Officers thanked the public for their response to an appeal launched yesterday for help finding Riina Elisabeth Sjogren.
The 38-year-old from Helsinki vanished from a tram stop on York Place at 10.20pm last Tuesday after missing a flight to Amsterdam.
A police spokeswoman said: “We’ve had a good response to the appeal and wish to thank the public for their assistance so far.
“Our dedicated team are following up various leads and carrying out multiple lines of inquiry.”
“We also have an officer in Edinburgh Division who is Finnish and he is liaising with Riina’s family and the authorities in Finland on behalf of the inquiry team.”
