Tourism chiefs mean business after visits
Scotland Means Business, organised by VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit, saw a series of 15-minute face-to-face meetings with more than 40 Scottish venues, hotels and event organisers showcasing what Scotland has to offer.
Representatives from North America, Germany, France, Spain and Russia visited venues including the Caledonian Hotel, Britannia, the Balmoral Hotel, the Sheraton Hotel and the Assembly Rooms during a two-day visit.

Hide AdManuela Calchini, VisitScotland regional director, said: “Edinburgh has a plethora of venues suitable for the business tourism market. Recent investment at the Assembly Rooms, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum, the Sheraton and the EICC all help to ensure that Edinburgh is firmly at the front of mind for key decision-makers in the conference and incentive market.”
Neil Brownlee, VisitScotland’s head of business tourism, added; “Business tourism has an integral role to play in the ongoing contribution to the Scottish economy.”
