Townend in riding demos

OLYMPIC hopeful Oliver Townend will be giving riding demonstrations when he attends an event at the Scottish National Equestrian centre in West Lothian.

The 28-year-old Yorkshireman will be staging three demonstrations featuring some of the horses he hopes to take with him to London 2012.

He said: “It does no harm at all to get the horses out in front of a crowd to get them used to the atmosphere.

“It’s a very good experience. I want these to be fun, light-hearted demonstrations that everyone can relate to and learn from and then go home and use the experience with their own horses.”

The event at the equestrian centre, situated at the Oatridge College Estate, will take place on November 19 and 20.
