The 120 and 121 buses, which are not linked to the Edinburgh-based Lothian bus company, run between the town of Thika and the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

The bus company posted on Facebook: "Your transport has always been our main priority. We endeavour to be affordable and efficient in offering transportation to even more people each day.

"We recently released our product line of Lothian buses. Have you been on one what is your experience? Tell us the good news."

A spokesman for Lothian said they are aware of the buses but added that the bus operator is not in partnership with Lothian buses and that the vehicles were never owned by Lothian.

Neo Kenya Mpya have been contacted for comment.
