Drivers are seeing minor congestion on Edinburgh's roads this morning as temperatures warm up after a freezing weekend.

Commuters in the city are experiencing typical congestion on the city bypass with traffic moving slowly from Gilmerton to Dreghorn. There are also delays westbound from Straiton to Dreghorn.

Frogston Road West is experiencing around a five minute delay at Fairmilehead crossroads while Lasswade Road has a 10 minute travel time through the temporary lights at Lang Loan.

The A702 is experiencing its usual queues from Bush to Hillend.

Traffic Scotland said the M90 southbound from junction three to the Queensferry Crossing was seeing its usual busy morning, with congestion on the M8 eastbound between junction four through to junction one also affecting travellers.

As of 8am, the M9 is experiencing congestion southbound between Newbridge to the M8 merge.

Heavy rain is expected to hit the capital during rush hour this morning after a chilly weekend.

This means there is a much reduced chance of frost and ice on the roads.

There are no delays on the trains, buses and trams.
