One treated by ambulance crews in North Bridge fire drama

One person has been injured after fire broke out in business premises on North Bridge

Crews were called to the scene at around 5.30pm on Sunday evening.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeperson said: "We were alerted at 5.31pm to reports of a fire within a business premises on North Bridge in Edinburgh.

"Operations control mobilised six fire appliances and crews extinguished a fire within a ground floor property. One casualty was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"The adjacent hotel was evacuated due to the amount of smoke and crews remain in attendance."
