A BROKEN down train has sparked widespread disruption on services departing from the Capital.
Commuters face lengthy delays as trains running between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
The faulty train broke down between Waverley and Haymarket stations earlier this evening.
A statement on the Scotrail website said the disruption was expected to last until at least 7pm.
A spokeswoman for ScotRail said: “We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.”
The train operator arranged replacement buses at Bathgate, Waverley and Shotts stations.
