COMMUTERS travelling between Edinburgh and Glasgow were hit by delays to train services.

Signalling problems at Glasgow Queen Street were blamed for the initial disruption.

The delays were then worsened when a passenger on a train between Edinburgh and Glasgow was taken ill.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said the problems with signalling had started at around 10.30am yesterday while the passenger had been taken ill at 10.47am.

Services were delayed but none was cancelled. Normal service resumed at 11am.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control.”
