Commuters were left stranded for around 20 minutes after trains were unable to stop at Haymarket this morning.

A power cut which hit the station at around 6am saw all station lighting go out, meaning trains could not call at the station.

ScotRail said: "Services are currently unable to call at Haymarket due to the station lighting failing. All services to/from Edinburgh are running normally otherwise."

The issue was solved by about 6.30am, with trains continuing to serve Edinburgh Waverley throughout.

There were also reports of traffic lights and the Edinburgh Tram stop outside the station suffering from the power cut.
