Edinburgh roadworks: travel disruption expected due to network upgrades, road closures and temporary traffic lights

Here are all of the published roadworks in Edinburgh which will start this week (w/c 09 December)

This is a comprehensive list of all of the road closures due to start from Monday 9 December to Sunday 15 December according to the City of Edinburgh Council website.

Durham Avenue, 09 December to 13 December

Roadworks in three phases: phase one will see three way temporary traffic lights at Duddingston Gardens North. Phase two will see Durham Avenue closed eastbound from Southfield Gardens East to Mountcastle Drive South. Phase three will see two way temporary traffic lights and Duddingston Square East closed. This is due to a network upgrade. Begins 7:30am.

Queensferry Road, 09 December

Lane closures and contraflow measures between Drum Brae North and Parkgrove Avenue due to tree trimming. Begins 8am until 4pm.

Bonnington Road, 09 December

Three way temporary traffic lights at Anderson Place with the west footway closed due to replacing a phone mast. Begins 8:30am.

Swanston Road, 09 December to 12 December

Temporary traffic lights between Oxgangs Road and Swanston Park due to a new gas supply. Begins 9am.

Pennywell Road, 09 December to 11 December

Lane closures on Pennywell Road, West Granton Road and on the roundabout due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.

Craigcrook Road, 10 December

Priority boards on Craigcrook Road with Jeffrey Avenue closed to through traffic due to manhole repairs. Begins 9am.

Craigleith Hill Crescent, 09 December to 13 December

Three way temporary traffic lights at Craigleith Hill Loan due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.

Saughton Road North, 09 December to 11 December

Off peak three way temporary traffic lights at Carrick Knowe Parkway due to cable work via carriageway manholes. Begins 9:30am.

Durham Terrace, 09 December to 13 December

Road closed at the junction with Mountcastle Drive South with local diversions as signed due to a network upgrade. Begins 9:30am.

Firrhill Crescent, 09 December

Road closed at Oxgangs Road North with local diversions as signed due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.

Maybury Road, 10 December to 15 December

Between East Craigs roundabout and Barton junction, a section of northbound carriageway will be closed, with contraflow on southbound carriageway. This is due to the formation of site access for CALA/Barratt Homes development. Begins 9:30am.

Firrhill Loan, 10 December to 11 December

Road closed at Firrhill Crescent with local diversions as signed due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.

City of Edinburgh Bypass, 10 December to 13 December

Road closed to eastbound traffic from Calder to Dreghorn from 8pm to 6am for three nights due to overnight maintenance work.

Restalrig Road South, 10 December to 11 December

Road closed at Smokey Brae with diversions signed via Restalrig Avenue and Portobello Road due to overnight bridge inspection. Begins 10pm.

Stirling Road, 12 December

Road closed between Zetland Place and East Trinity Road due to pole replacement. Begins 8am.

Oxgangs Farm Avenue, 12 December to 14 December

Temporary traffic lights at Oxgangs Farm Gardens due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.

Lanark Road West, 14 December

Three way temporary traffic lights at Dolphin Avenue due to ironwork repairs. Begins 9:30am.

Georgie Road, 14 December

Mcleod Street closed and parking restrictions as signed in the Gorgie area due to Hearts vs St. Johnstone playing at Tynecastle Stadium. Restrictions begin 2pm.

Shandon Place, 15 December

Two way temporary traffic lights at Shandon Street with Shandon Street and Merchiston Grove closed due to the clearing of blocked cable ducts. Begins 9:30am.
