Traffic Scotland's official Twitter account said flooding has been reported between junctions two and three - Ratho to Dechmont - on the motorway.

It says westbound traffic is queuing to get through and that eastbound traffic is heavy in the area.

The roads authority advised motorists to drive safely to the road conditions.

Edinburgh Travel News, a Twitter account run by members of Edinburgh City Council’s roads team, also warned of flooding this evening on the B7030 Cliftonhall Road between Newbridge and Wilkieston.
