The HMS Albion is returning to Leith after completing a maritime exercise and is dropping off equipment and personnel, a spokesman from Royal Navy confirmed.

The ship, measuring 176 metres in length and reaching a total speed of 18 knots +, was training alongside NATO partners as part of the Littoral Response Group North in the North Atlantic, Arctic and Baltic Sea.

The amphibious assault ship set off from Fife's Rosyth Dockyard in May before returning to Leith on Friday, 25 June.
