Late train rule change urged

TRAINS across Scotland’s rail network should be considered late if they are more than a minute overdue, a new report has urged.

The report from the Scottish Parliament’s Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee said fines should also be handed out if trains run more than a minute late.

Under the current system, trains are not considered late unless they run over ten minutes behind schedule.

The committee’s Rail 2014 report released today also recommend more regular upgrades and improvements to trains.
