M8: Delays expected after crash on Edinburgh motorway

A lane has been cleared after a three vehicle crash on a major Edinburgh motorway.

A three vehicle crash temporarily closed a lane on a major Edinburgh motorway near the Capital’s city bypass.

Traffic Scotland warned drivers of delays on the M8 near Hermiston Gait due to a crash.

They tweeted: “NEW 08.01

M8: Lane closed and delays expected after crash on Edinburgh motorway

“M8 RTC

“Lane 2 blocked E/B on approach to Hermiston Gait due to an RTC.

“Traffic is slow on approach

“TRISS en route.”

The lane has since been cleared.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 8am to a report of a three vehicle crash at the Hermiston Gait roundabout, Edinburgh.

"The vehicles have been moved to the hard shoulder for recovery.”

There are currently no reports of any injuries.
