Fire crews are currently cutting a man out of a car after a three-car road collision on the A1.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two crews are attending the incident, which happened at around 5.30pm just off the Old Craighall Services.

The man is understood to be the only injury and sources at the scene said he was not seriously hurt.

She said: “Firefighters are using cutting equipment to take the roof off and they’re now using a spinal board to remove the casualty from the vehicle.”

A police spokesman also confirmed the vehicles were travelling from Musselburgh when they collided just before the roundabout outside the Travelodge.

The road is partially blocked and drivers should expect some delays.
