AIRLINE Flybe has launched a new service between Edinburgh and London City Airport.
It said the move – which involves up to four flights a day between the two capitals –was “a major expansion” of its operations.
Flybe has also introduced new services from Aberdeen and Inverness to London, with up to two flights a day.
First Minister Alex Salmond, who attended a launch event in London, said it was an exciting time for Scottish aviation.
He said: “We have long stressed the economic benefits of improving Scotland’s connectivity.”
