A YOUNG mum who vowed to go through with her pregnancy despite her child having a 1 per cent chance of survival has lost her baby.

Lisa Tilbury, who was six months’ pregnant, discovered at her 20-week scan that her unborn baby had a tumour on its kidney and fluid in its stomach.

Last week, the Bathgate woman launched a £300,000 fundraising drive to travel to the renowned Boston Children’s Hospital in America for specialist treatment.

But sadly, at a check-up, the 22-year-old discovered that she had lost the baby.

She and the baby’s father Blake Carrington, 21, and his mother Helen, are still numb from the news.

She said: “The heart beat just stopped, and they found that the tumour had got bigger.”

Miss Tilbury will have to make the heart-breaking trip to St John’s hospital at Livingston to deliver the baby on Sunday.

The 22-year-old said: “I was aware it could happen, but at least we gave it a chance and it managed up until now.”
