TV dinners for city eaters

TV show Come Dine with Me will feature Edinburgh contestants next week.

Five locals battled it out in the kitchen to impress each other with their culinary creations and win the £1000 prize.

The episodes, filmed at five homes in the Capital, will be shown on Channel 4 from Monday to Friday at 5.30pm.

Among the contestants was events manager Peter Ferguson from Leith, who served his guests a pricey main course of chateaubriand, setting him back £60.

The 35-year-old, who is the director of Edinburgh-based pdf Productions Limited, said: “I enjoyed the experience, it was good fun. It was knackering too, there was a couple of clashes of personality. Entertaining four strangers is a unique experience and nothing could prepare you for it.”
