Two people have appeared in court following the seizure of £38,000 worth of Class A drugs following the search of three houses in Edinburgh earlier this week.
As a result of an intelligence-led operation, three houses were searched in the Saughton Mains Terrace and Forrester Park Drive area of Edinburgh with a further house being search in Loanhead.
These searches resulted in diamorphine and other drugs to the value of £38,000 being recovered along with a significant sum of money.
A 44-year-old woman was remanded in custody, while a 43-year-old man was released on bail to appear at a later date when they appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday on charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness, who led the raids, said: ‘This is a significant recovery of Class A drugs which was intended for distribution within the community. The recent recoveries with the city demonstrates the commitment by Police Scotland in relation to stamping down on Serious and Organised Crime.
