Rishi Sunak made he biggest mistake of the election so far when he came home early from the D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations in France to record an interview not due to be broadcast for nearly a week. He left Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron to stand in fro him at a meeting of world leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and US President Joe Biden. Labour's Keir Starmer also stayed for the event, allowing him to look more prime ministerial than the PM. Mr Sunak apologised for the "mistake" but Tory MPs are furious at such a major failure of judgement.
