ONE of the Capital’s top youth football clubs have employed a sports psychologist to improve their under-12s boys team.
Hutchison Vale have enlisted performance psychologist Tracy Donachie, 29, to run workshops for teams at the club and teach the coaches how to get the best out of their budding stars.
The club even plan to roll out the sports psychology workshops to kids as young as eight.
However the side’s “win at all costs” mentality has been questioned by parents.
One who asked not to be named, said: “This is typical Hutchie behaviour. They think they’re better than everyone else.”
However club leader Tam Smith defended the decision and said: “It’s about creating positive thinking as opposed to some of the negativity that can come from parents on the sidelines.”
