A VAN driver is being hunted by police after he kicked and punched a BMW during a road rage incident.

The 36-year-old car driver was aggressively targeted after a silver Vauxhall Vivaro cut in front on him as he reached the Gyle roundabout after driving along South Gyle Broadway.

Both vehicles continued to travel west before the BMW came to stop with traffic, when the van driver shunted the victim’s car.

When the BMW stopped again, the suspect exited his van and began kicking and punching the car, resulting in significant damage to door panels and a wing mirror.

Police are now keen to trace the van driver, who has been described as hite, in his 30s with a shaved head at the sides and bald on top.

Inspector Andrew Gilhooley said: “This was a very frightening experience for the victim and resulted in damage to his car.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who remembers travelling west along South Gyle Broadway on the evening of Friday, July 26 and saw this van or can help identify its driver.”
