Veggies take over schools

CLASSROOMS in East Lothian are set to be overrun by an avalanche of vegetables next month as part of a new government healthy-eating campaign.

Dubbed Veginvasion, the aim of the project is to further people’s understanding of nutrition, particularly amongst primary school children.

East Lothian Council is the first local authority in Scotland to introduce this scheme for younger school children.

Councillor Ruth Currie said: “This is a really great initiative.”
