Vet students set for free bus travel

EDINBURGH University Students’ Association (Eusa) has welcomed news from the principal that he will recommend some form of free bus provision for Easter Bush vet students.

Eusa president Matt McPherson said: “I’m delighted that the principal has decided to address the need for free transport provision. EUSA has worked hard on this campaign and many students have got involved to help us achieve it.

“Vet students currently spend £468 per year for a bus pass, as well as having significant extra course costs to pay.

“The move out to Easter Bush for our vets was a welcomed one, but their new campus is seven miles away from George Square and is inaccessible and expensive to get to.

“Eusa has not done enough in the past to represent vet students and so I hope this is the first chapter in a much more positive relationship.”

Detailed proposals will be outlined in the near future.
