War veteran Bill launches Poppy plea

THIS year’s Poppy Appeal has been launched with the help of a 90-year-old veteran of the Second World War.

Ex-soldier Bill Walker joined members of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland at their barracks yesterday.

Together they formed a giant 90 shape to increase the appeal’s profile.

Money donated to Poppy Scotland supports ex-servicemen and women suffering from physical and mental problems.
