Watch as Edinburgh firefighters tackle fire in building near Leith Links

Firefighters dealt with a fire which broke out in a building close to Leith Links this evening.

Two appliances - a fire engine and a height appliance - were called to the property in Hermitage Place at around 4:50pm.

Pictures from the scene showed several firefighters in attendance and video footage showed crews using the height appliance to extinguish the flames. Smoke could also be seen coming from the top of the building.

However, a fire service spokesperson later confirmed it was a small fire which was extinguished within about 45 minutes of the 999 call being made.

No one was hurt as a result of the fire.
