Edinburgh weather: yellow warning issued as Capital set to be battered by heavy rainfall

A warning for heavy downpours and flooding has been put in place for Edinburgh and other parts of the country.

The yellow weather warning, issued by the Met Office, is in place from Saturday morning through to Sunday afternoon during which flooding and disruption to travel is expected.

All of the east coast of Scotland will be affected by the extreme weather.

Weather experts warned the wet conditions could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings and there is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
