Will it snow in Edinburgh this week?

There has been a flood of weather warnings in the last few days as the winter weather begins to bite.

Despite warnings, snow will only fall in high ground in the Lothians, however, there will be widespread frost.

Indeed many have reported that temperatures in Scotland will plummet in the next few days with snow for many parts.

In some parts, air temperature is expected to be below -4 degrees however, despite the grim warnings for many areas of the country, Edinburgh and the Lothians should enjoy relatively bright weather.

While there may be some wintry showers in the Lothians, snow will only fall over high ground.

There will be breezy conditions in the mornings and afternoons with widespread frost throughout the evening and early mornings.

Temperatures will probably reach a low of around -2 in the next few days before it gets milder into the weekend.
