Woman hit by train dies

A WOMAN has died after being struck by a train at Linlithgow Station.

British Transport Police were called to the station at around 7.20pm last night after receiving a report that a person had been struck by a train.

A spokesman for BTP said the incident was being treated as non-suspicious.

He added: “Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The train involved was the 6.30pm service from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

The incident caused some delays.
