A PROGRAMME of events is to take place in Midlothian to mark International Women’s Day.
Organised by Midlothian Council’s community learning and development team, activities will be held at Newbattle Community Learning Centre in Newtongrange on Thursday, March 8 and will include creative writing, card making, alternative therapies, arts and crafts, jewellery making and zumba.
Community learning and development spokesman Councillor Peter Boyes said: “Midlothian residents will join with people from all across the globe to celebrate International Women’s Day. I’m delighted to see such an exciting range of free activities organised at Newbattle to mark the occasion.”
Doors open at 10am, with activities taking place until 3pm.
All events are free.
