Worker hurt in pole leap

A SCOTTISH Power worker has been injured after he jumped from the top of an electricity pole he was working on.

It is thought that the accident, which happened in Marvingston, Haddington, occurred after the worker was spooked by an incident that occurred while he was fixing the overhead network.

He was taken to the ERI after injuring one of his legs.

A spokeswoman confirmed that an incident had taken place but said she was unsure as to why the employee had jumped from the pole. She said: “We are investigating.”
