Yellow weather warning issued for Lothians as temperatures set to plummet
Temperatures are expected to plummet due to a strong, cold northwesterly wind. The Met Office has warned that wintry showers are possible and that it will turn very cold overnight.

Hide AdThe weather warning is likely to avoid Edinburgh with the warning in place mainly for low temperatures.
Bathgate and other areas are more likely to be affected by snow and winter weather than Livingston and Edinburgh.
However, the Met Office warning stats that the heaviest and most frequent of the snow showers will progressively become confined to northeast Scotland during Saturday.
Commuters have been warned that some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and for train services. Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
While Edinburgh should be mainly clear of snow, caution should be taken due to ice underfoot.
