Yours for a snip. . hairdresser lands elusive ticket

HE had tried to score a cup final ticket, but failed to make the cut.

So a Hibs-daft barber appealed to his clients for a gold-dust brief to the Hampden showdown with the sweetener of two years’ free trims.

Jamie Wise, 26, advertised the offer in the window of Boombarbers, in Melville Place, after failing to snap up a ticket for tomorrow’s all-Edinburgh cup final and was delighted when a customer came through.

Less than a week after mounting the appeal, Stevie Young fulfilled the hairdresser’s dream by giving him an extra ticket he had won in a ballot.

Mr Wise, who last watched the Easter Road side in the flesh in 2004, said: “Stevie is one of our regulars who comes in with his son, has a season ticket and luckily had won two extra tickets at the Dunfermline match when his seat number was called out in a ballot.

“He was going to sell them but decided to help a fellow Hibs fan out instead.”

Stevie and his son are regular visitors to the West End outlet and the Hibs devotee is expected to save around £400 on haircuts over the next two years as a result of the exchange.

He told the News: “Me and my son go there for haircuts all the time and I saw the offer in the window and decided to talk to Jamie. It felt good to give the spare tickets to someone we know instead of selling it so I’ll know a fellow Hibs fan can go and enjoy the match as well.”
