Youths arrested after spate of robberies

TWO teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a spate of assaults and robberies in which elderly residents in Leith were allegedly targeted.

The pair were arrested following a third alleged incident on Monday on Elgin Terrace off Easter Road, in which a 65-year-old woman reported having her handbag stolen.

Two women aged 67 and 85 were both allegedly robbed of their bags in Brunswick Street in the past week.
