Stranraer manager Stevie Farrell could only wax lyrical about Hibs after they put on a show to beat his team 4-0 at Stair Park.

The Hibees progressed to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup thanks to a double from Martin Boyle and strikes from Christian Doidge and Kevin Nisbet, with Farrell left in no doubt about the quality in the Easter Road team.

“They’re an excellent side ... you can see why they’re the third-ranked side in Scotland,” said Farrell. “Their movement is excellent. I’ve just told the players we need to have learning outcomes after this. We shouldn’t be too despondent because our players – particularly our young players – can learn from the way they go about their business and the intensity they play at.

“Hibs’ front three are very good. They’re always on the move. I’ve told my young players to look at the way they move. They’re good players and why they play at the level they do.”
