Stranraer turned to two of their most experienced players to lead the club going forward.

Hamill, who spent three seasons at Tynecastle, has been chosen as team’s manager with Duffy, who has enjoyed a nomadic career including spells in India, will be his right-hand man having recently completed his UEFA B Licence.

Duffy had a short loan spell at Easter Road.

“This is an exciting time for the club and a great opportunity for our new management team,” the club’s chairman Shaun Niven said.

“I know they are keen to get started and I’m delighted that Jamie, Darryl and Scott have agreed to come onboard.”

Stranraer reached the play-offs but failed to win promotion from League Two.
