Appeal after break-in and theft of motorbikes in Mid Calder

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a break-in and theft in Mid Calder.

The incident happened sometime between 7:50am and 9:45am on Wednesday at a business premises in Oakbank Park Place.

After entry was forced to the property, two motorcyles were stolen from within, which the suspects then made off on along the A71 towards Edinburgh.

The bikes stolen during this break-in were a red, white and black Honda CR 450cc trials bike with the number 88 on the bodywork and a gold, white and black Yamaha YZF 450cc trials bike with the number 227 on the bodywork.

Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

The suspects are described as being white males in their late teens or early twenties, around 6ft tall and wearing dark clothin. One was carrying a dark blue rucksack and the other was wearing dark clothes.

Constable Julias Nyamakanga from the Community Investigation Unit said: “The stolen motorcycles are quite distinctive and so anyone who believes they have seen them since Wednesday morning should contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone with any information relating to this incident, or who can help us identify those responsible should also get in touch.”
