SUPERHERO fans who missed out on a preview of the new Avengers film were thrilled when the co-director added an extra show.
Hundreds queued at Cineworld, Fountain Park, on Tuesday to see 20 minutes of footage from the hotly-anticipated Hollywood blockbuster, Avengers: Infinity War.
But with the limited number of tickets for the sneak preview screening already sold out, most of those queuing expected to be left out in the cold.
To the surprise and delight of 20-30 super fans, however, Joe Russo, who directed the film with brother Anthony, stepped in to put an extra screening on.
The Avengers director even stopped to dish out autographs and take selfies with dozens of eager fans.
One fan, Caroline Kemp, who bagged a free ticket and a selfie with Russo, said: “He saw that us fans were waiting and he held a whole extra screening just for 20 to 30 of us. Nicest guy ever.”
Twitter user @akfpaige wrote: “All of us were on the waiting list for the Infinity War screening and Joe Russo, being the lovely guy he is, ran a second screening for us and came out to meet us all personally. I guess today turned out pretty good.”
Prior to the exclusive 20-minute screening of footage from the hotly-anticipated blockbuster, Russo addressed the audience and thanked the city of Edinburgh for being such a great host during their five weeks of filming.
The American filmmaker also revealed that Edinburgh will star in 10 minutes of the movie.
Avengers: Infinity War is due for UK-wide release on 26 April.
