Edinburgh firm to project manage city's Virgin Hotel development

AN EDINBURGH company has been appointed as project managers of the first UK Virgin Hotel which will opened in the Capital.

India Buildings Limited has appointed global property and construction consultancy, Thomas and Adamson, as project managers of the proposed development.

The 225-bed project will be established at the 19th century India Buildings on Victoria Street, close to the Grassmarket.

Thomas & Adamson will oversee the development of the hotel, which will feature bedrooms, bars and restaurants. The development will include a Virgin flagship Common Club restaurants, meeting and conference facilities and function rooms.

The project will include the refurbishment of three existing listed buildings and a new-build pavilion extension containing guest rooms and landscaping.

The hotel is expected to provide a £5 million boost to the local economy every year, as well as support hundreds of jobs during its construction.
