Readers have shared their images from Bonfire Night in a night of carnage across the city.
Firefighters were attacked and cars were set alight as youths took to the streets in a night of anti social and violent behaviour.
The areas of Pilton and Loganlea were particularly challenging for officers and on a number of occasions fireworks were set off at officers by youths.

Chief Inspector Gill Geany at St Leonards Police Office said “The conduct of a number of youths this evening was outrageous and their misuse of fireworks was nothing short of dangerous.”
Contributing images and comments on our official Facebook page, many Edinburgh residents had their say.
Karen Allan wrote: “This is an absolute disgrace. I’m ashamed to say I’m from Edinburgh right now. Tougher sentences required in my opinion.”
Jean Hilliard Fairgrieve said: “What is happening in Edinburgh at the moment? Young thugs running wild.”
