Emergency services attended a flat fire on Easter Road just after 9am this morning.

Firefighters were called out to a flat on Easter Road after the alarm was raised around 9.30am.

The road was blocked Lorne Street and Dalmeny Street as a result of the response to the incident.

A spokesman said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 9.20am on Wednesday, December 6 to reports of a fire within a third floor tenement flat on Easter Road, Edinburgh.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised three appliances and a height appliance and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a small fire.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
