Harry Potter author JK Rowling helped producers make the new Lego Batman movie, its director has revealed.

Bosses at Warner Bros also had to get her approval before including her character Lord Voldemort in the film.

Rowling, 51, who wrote Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, collaborated and contributed dialogue during the making of the film.

Director Chris McKay said in a US interview: “We used Dumbledore in The Lego Movie as a quick one-off joke, but Voldemort plays a bigger role in this one. It was all really positive and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about working with her.”

The film has been a success on both sides of the Atlantic, earning more than £100 million in its first week.
