A man was punched in the face by two men wearing hoodies in a serious assault in Armadale.

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.

The incident took place around 8am on Sunday, December 3, in the East Main Street area.

The menm were last seen heading towards an alleyway on McNeil Crescent.

The 26-year-old has later attended St John’s Hospital, where it was established that he has sustained serious facial injuries.

Officers are urging anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Jason Beck of Livingston CID said: “Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding this man’s injuries and we’re asking anyone who can help to come forward.

“We’re particularly eager to trace the driver of a white Vauxhall car, possibly an Insignia, who offered assistance to the man near to roadworks at the dog track around 8.15am on Sunday morning.”
