A number of services have been impacted by the high winds brought by Storm Caroline, however, a fault with signalling caused significant impact on the Edinburgh-Glasgow line.

However, Scotrail have confirmed that services are beginning to return to normal.

Services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High were reduced to a half hour service.

Many took to social media to vent about the disruption. One Twitter user wrote: “This has been ongoing since yesterday and still not fixed . Joke of a service and being charged 105 quid a week for the privilege”
