Twenty-eight headstones have been vandalised in a Lothian cemetery.
Police have appealed for information after the attack in Whitburn Cemetery on Sunday.
Community Constable Carol-Ann Wilson said: “The damage to the headstones is estimated to be in excess of £8000. We are working with West Lothian Council to identify the owners of the headstones.
“We are currently speaking to a number of witnesses and following a positive line of inquiry. However, we are still keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify the owners or who has information that can otherwise assist with our inquiries.”
Those with information should call 101.
