Fire-raising has been reported at an address in a Lothian town, sparking a police probe.
The incident happened in Marina Road, Bathgate, on Monday afternoon, when an attempt was made to set fire to a front door.
The attempt was unsuccessful and the services of firefighters were not required.
The property was unoccupied and no one was injured. Detective Sergeant Craig Higgins of Livingston Police Station said: “This could have potentially been a very serious incident.”
