The main event sold out in 2014 and tickets are already gone for the Concert in the Gardens, the Old Town Ceilidh and other events across the three-day celebration.

Unique Events, who produce the festival on behalf of Edinburgh Council, are advising revellers to buy and pick up their street-party tickets on Tuesday or Wednesday - and not waiting until December 31.

Director Pete Irvine said: “With so many events already sold out for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay this year, I would encourage you to get hold of your tickets for the world-famous street party from our box office before Thursday to guarantee that you can join us to celebrate this fabulous festival in the home of Hogmanay.”

The celebrations start with a torchlight procession on December 30 when 10,000 torchbearers will travel from George IV Bridge to Calton Hill for the fireworks finale.

Biffy Clyro will headline this year’s Concert in the Gardens on Hogmanay, with performances planned by Maximo Park, Slaves and Idlewild among others.
