EDINBURGH Wolves Women's American football team have been crowned Division 2 North conference champions in only their second year in existence.

Edinburgh Wolves Women celebrate their win

The Capital team beat Teesside Steelers 26-7 in the final round of fixtures in Chester to claim the crown and will play in Division 1 next season.

Head coach Mark Bramwell said: “We have had a great season this year, we recruited well, have a great bunch of players and I’m supported by an excellent staff.

“The win is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant way to end our Sapphire series campaign.

“Next year, we move up to Division 1 so, after a few weeks off, we’re right back at it in preparation for the next step.”
