European bronze medallist Chris O’Hare helped himself to a double in New York with two victories at the Armory Invitational meeting.

The Capital star, building up for a title tilt at next month’s world indoor championships in Portland, romped clear in the one mile event in a time of 3:54.59.

And it extended the Boston-based 25-year-old’s winning streak in 2016 to three after he took the 1500 metres in 3:39.28.

Edinburgh AC club–mate Lynsey Sharp, who has spent the past month training in the United States, opened her campaign with third place in the 800m behind American rival Ajee Wilson.

Elsewhere, Lasswade’s Guy Learmonth continued his unbeaten start to 2016 by winning the 800m as a guest at the Scottish University Championships in Glasgow in 1:50.20.
