EDINBURGH ATHLETIC CLUB teenage sprint hope Michael Olsen is out of the Scottish National Indoor Open in Glasgow later today due to illness.

Olsen, who is still only 15, was down to run the senior 60 metres at the Emirates Arena against some hot opposition including top senior Ryan Oswald (Pitreavie).

But his eagerly-awaited clash with 16-year-old clubmate Cameron Tindle, the New Year Sprint winner, will have to wait another day.

“Michael’s been really unwell and won’t be running,” said Capital coach John Scott who, along with his wife Anne, has taken over responsibility for guiding Olsen from club colleague Bill Walker.

Another of Scott’s athletes, triple jumper Chukwudi Onyia is competing in the 60 metres.
